Deanna's Birthday Bash!

A MESSAGE FROM DEANNA

I will be celebrating my 46th birthday on July 2nd. I actually have two birthdays. Legally, July 1st is my birthday but I was actually born on July 2nd. My parents never went to have it corrected but that's okay. I like having two special days!
I hope you will join me for the fun and festivities. On Wednesday, July 1st, I will be hosting Baby Photo Day and I would love it if you would participate. I would love to see some of your baby photos! Please feel free to post up to three of your favorite baby snaps of your self. I'll even post one of Mr. Timeless Things...he can't be left out of the fun and games!!
On Thursday, July 2nd, I will host my Movie Star party! Please feel free to come as your favorite Movie Star past or present and in their best Oscar worthy duds. I hope my sister Laurie (momof2roses) comes as Shirley Temple! And as this is the world of fantasy....presents will be accepted and the sky is the limit! Remember, Google images has a plethora of photos for you to choose your favorite Movie Star and for the fantasy gift you would like to bring to the party! Mr. Timeless Things and I will be making our appearance as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton! I found some great photos to use for the party! Jewelers, Van Cleef and Arpels along with Chopard and I, will be waiting to greet you at the entrance to my party with a gift specially chosen for you! I have invited some very special guests to mingle with us Bloggy folk and I know that you will be very surprised! The Movie Star Party will be an all day event so come at your leisure.
If you would like to celebrate with me, leave me a sweet note letting me know and I will add you to my party list. On the day of the first and second party, I will have the list of my sweet friends who are participating so that you may visit their blogs and view their Baby Photos and their Movie Star persona. If you can only participate in one of the events, don't worry! Just let me know which one you would like to join. Oh I can't wait!!! Please say you will join.....I would be so honored to have you at either party.

Red Bathroom

Since I was working on my living room today I decided that the girls bathroom needed some work on it too. So I dug out my fabric and I have to say I had a really hard time deciding on which fabric to use. I finally decided on some red fabric that I had used a couple of years ago. I had bought some red burlap type fabric that last time my mother was here and knew I wanted to use it. I bought that fabric even before our new bigger Joann's opened. The fabric has stripes on it and I thought it would make a great window treatment. I couldn't decide if I wanted a western theme in there or to do something else. I really want to used my western stuff somewhere but I chose not to use it in the girls bathroom. So I pulled my sewing machine out and went to work making button holes and hemming the edges that weren't cut well. Here's how it looks. The plant that is sitting on my sink is not staying there. I accidentally dropped it and everything spilled out of it. I have had that plant for over a year and it was a gift from my youngest daughter so I am hoping it will survive being dumped on the floor. I made the window treatment a little long and I had already put my sewing machine away so I folded the top over. I might get my machine out tomorrow and shorten it or I may not. Who knows. See the little rock on the shelf.

It's a red rock in the shape of a heart. Mike found it when he and the girls were out walking one day several years ago. I am a heart person. I love hearts. I mark my favorite Bible verses with hearts. I always have. So it was a sweet thing for him to find and give me.
This red fabric was actually a table cloth I bought on clearance at Wal-Mart a few years ago. I did this mosaic on my countertop a few years ago. It's not great but better than what was there before. I love my horse lamp! It's from Target and I had to find just the right box to ship it home from Texas. Well there it is and it didn't cost a thing. I'm glad I was able to use the beautiful picture that my mother sent me. I was able to have it mounted at Ben Franklin. Now to finish the living room. Here's a sneak peak. It's a mess but here it is. My camera needs a good cleaning. It's all spotty!Have a great weekend!

It's alright to cry

This is a song from a movie I watched in the 3rd grade. I have looked for this song
for ages and just found it today. It was part of a movie called Free To Be You and Me. I always loved the song and tried really hard to remember it but all I could remember was it's alright to cry. It's beautiful song.

I just recently found out I have PCOS. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I am sure I have had it since my teens. I always new what a miracle my girls were but this just seals the deal for me. So many women who have this have to use fertility medication. I didn't have to with either of my girls. I am so thankful for them even when they are making my crazy. I will now be on medication for it which should alleviate some of the symptoms that go with PCOS.

My mother is coming in July and Mike is leaving for Australia again. It's been a beautiful summer so far. We have a pool set up and it's filling with water. I can't wait to get in it. The girls are in and out of it. Have a good summer or winter depending on where you live.

Good News

The furniture guy came and looked at my love seat and we are getting two new love seats.
He said that sewing job was unacceptable. I'm so glad that he was really nice about it. I have the living room all painted minus the ceiling and Mike's going to do that for me. We will be using the furniture in the garage until my new stuff comes in. I have so much to do before my in-laws come at the end of this month.

We have 2 hens that have been wanting to set all winter but we have had to keep them from setting. So once it started to warm up I asked Mike to let them set if they were still wanting to set. The 2 hens are sitting on a lot of eggs from all the other hens too. Mike recently moved them to their own coop and he's been checking everyday to see if we had anything. Yesterday he thought he heard chirping but saw nothing and today we saw a little head peeking out from underneath one of the hens. So he called us out to see the baby chick. We don't know how many are hatched but we are so excited to have new baby chicks. This makes 3 generations of chickens for us and it's been fun watching them grow and have chicks of their own.
